Team Luckett part 2
The guy was so stoked on his logo designs, that he hired me to do a huge piece with his whole family. This is one of the biggest art pieces I have done in a while but, found the challenge very fun. The customer seemed really happy with the final piece and I can't thank him enough for allowing me to do this work :)
Thanks for looking everyone!

Hammer Head sharks
I have been asked to come up with a Hammer-head shark type idea for a new t-shirt for a company. Trying to figure out what they are shooting for so, these are some brainstorming for the project ( Hope to be able to talk more about this soon). If you are familiar with this blog some of these may look similar to the tattoo designs I did for a friend awhile back. Thanks for looking and stay tuned for more exciting news coming soon!

Best Day Ever
Another cool thing about the comics experience forums are you have access to a plethora of awesome scripts. The guys over there are really serious about writers and artists getting together to do collaborations, too. During my last class we were asked to complete a one page script that were provided by some excellent writers on the forum. This was my attempt at Rob Anderson's script "Best Day Ever". Rob is a super talented dude and I had a blast trying to bring his script to life!
You can read more about Rob here: www.PandaDogPress.com

Brutal Consequence
So a couple of months back I decided to join the Comics Experience creator's workshop and take some classes. I'm really glad I did because I have met some awesome people there. This piece is one of the best things I have ever had the pleasure of being involved in. This was an attempt at sequential work for me and I found this excellent script that was a reverse 3 panel page. The script was by a talented writer named Luke Barnett and the FANTASTIC inks were done by Gannon Beck. Gannon really made this piece shine with his stellar skills. Big Thanks to both Luke Barnett and Gannon Beck. I have a feeling you'll be hearing more of both these studs in the future.

Z is for Zero
Here we are at the final week of Alpha-books and we conclude the X-men alpha-bet with this villain, Z is for Zero. Zero is also the number of entries left for the project and I'm kinda sad to see it go :(
You can read more about Zero here: http://marvel.com/universe/Zero
Big Thanks goes out to the gentlemen who ran the Alpha-books project. I had an absolute blast drawing some of my favorite X-men from my child-hood. And for the last time I'll implore you to go to the Alphabooks website to see some awesome sketches from some true talents: www.alphabooks.tumblr.com
And I'll leave you with some un-used pencils from this weeks entry, So long Alpha-books *sob*

Y is for Yoshida
Y is for Yoshida, Shiro Yoshida better known as Sunfire. Y proved to be a tough week for an X-men alpha-bet and I had to break my code-name only rule. So here you go and you can read more about Sunfire here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunfire_(comics)
Now you try to figure out an X-men character who's code-name starts with y. It's tough but, big no-prize for who-ever gets one :)

X is for X-Cutioner
X is for X-Cutioner...this X-men bad guy takes over for this weeks dreaded "X" week for the Alpha-books project. I remember this guy from the early 90's and always thought he had an awesome look. So I had to jump at the chance to draw this guy. X-Cutioner could almost be described like a "Punisher" type character but, only kills mutants who have killed humans first. Heck you can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Cutioner

W is for Wolverine
Another "Alpha-books" entry this time it's... W is for Wolverine. Maybe one of the most popular mutants of all time if not one of the most popular comic characters of all time( I'm sure no one needs a link, right?). I got a little carried away with this one and might try to clean it up at a later date but, for the sake of this project and to finish on time, I better move on to the dreaded letter "X". I bet nobody can guess the way I'm going with the letter X...

V is for Vanisher
Oh boy, what a tough letter to come up with an X-men related character. But, I was able to scrounge this guy up... V is for Vanisher. Let me first say that I love this characters new look the one with all the tats and stuff but, tried to kinda do his old costume with a little of my style added. You can read more about him here:

U is for Unus the Untouchable
Who? Yeah it's that time of the alphabet where I have to come up with a character for letter U. I'm sure it's not just a struggle for me but, for every member of the Alpha-books website this week. Not like it's going to get better with V, W, X, Y, and Z left. I did make a list at the start of the project so I know that there are characters for those letters... just got to find that list.
Any-who here is this weeks "Alpha-books" entry... U is for Unus the Untouchable. The guy has force-field powers that make him untouchable. If you don't believe me this guy exists you can chuckle at his wiki page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unus_the_Untouchable

S is for Shatterstar
Man, sorry people running very behind this week and last. I've been swamped with work and some other stuff. So better late than never, no? For my Alpha-books entry this week I really wanted to do a Sabertooth piece but, went with this guy. S is for Shatterstar from the comic series X-Force. Took some liberties with the outfit this week but, I like to try new things with the alpha-projects. You can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shatterstar
And no, I don't know what he is pointing at???

Grom's Zombie surfboard
So about a month ago, I had the absolute pleasure of having one of my best buddies come into town for the weekend with his lovely wife and the little grom pictured above! Gavin has been nicknamed "Grom" because of his awesome skateboarding skills. I was completely honored when he asked me to draw a zombie on his surfboard! The kid is four so I wanted his uncles approval for what to do and I was pretty stoked to hear " The kid wants it gnarly...The more torn up the better" :)
So here's how the piece started with the outline for the zombie head...
And I wanted it to pop a little bit so I added some colors and details below...
A few more pics to show what its about... Happy kids :)

N is for Nightcrawler
A rare attempt at watercolors for my "Alpha-books" entry this week with... N is for Nightcrawler. This watercolor piece is the second attempt at Nightcrawler for the week. I wasn't digging the first one too much and instead of doing ink wash on that one...I broke out the ole' watercolor kit.
Here is the first attempt:
Which one do you people like better? Any who you can read more about on of my personal favorite X-men here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightcrawler_(comics)
Also included the pencils for the piece below.

M is for Mojo
The X-men alphabet that I'm doing for the excellent Alpha-books project continues with... M is for Mojo. Had to go with the villain who is as large as his ego... I mean, his ego is so big he renamed his world Mojo-world and even went as far call his universe "Mojoverse". You can read more about Mojo here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojo_(comics)
